The year 2011 is a year of retrospective for the most exciting chapter in European-Indian cultural history:
The life and achievements of the family Tagore since early 18th century - A dynasty, which constantly promoted inter-cultural exchange between Europe and India through generations and left behind a lasting impression till today.
The approaching year of 2011 will mark the 150th birth anniversary and the 70th death anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, the so called “Goethe of India” and the first Asian Nobel Prize laureate. On this occasion we will undertake a touching journey, which will start in Berlin as the descendents of this family live there since last 40 years. We will accompany the 64-year old Indian R.K. and his two daughters (22 and 24 years old, both born and brought up in Berlin), with a documentary in two parts, following their trail in tracking back the footsteps to a unique culture-historical past.

Albert Schweitzer about Rabindranath Tagore: „Tagore, the Goethe of India, gives expression to his personal experience that this is the truth (life affirmation) in a manner more profound, more powerful and more charming than any man has ever done before him. This completely noble and harmonious thinker belongs not only to his people but to humanity.”
